As the credits roll, what plays is Patience & Prudence's 1956 recording of "Tonight You Belong To Me." This isn't the song's first appearance — it was used in the very first episode of "American Horror Story: Murder House" back in 2011, and again to close out the finale of "Apocalypse" in 2018. Bringing back the exact same recording this season effectively ties the show's beginning back to its present.
The new season is officially titled "American Horror Story: 13," with co-creator Ryan Murphy framing it as a "greatest hits" crossover story bringing together characters and storylines from across the show's history. Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and others will reprise their past roles from the series. The story kicks off with hospice worker Ben DeSoto (Joey Pollari), who gets pulled into the mystery surrounding a Manhattan apartment building where Constance Langdon resides, before characters and mythologies from "Murder House," "Coven," "Hotel," "Freak Show," "Cult" and more begin to converge.
The season premieres Thursday in the US on FX and Hulu, while in the UK, Disney+ will drop the first three episodes on Friday, September 25. Three more episodes follow on October 2, then two per week after that, with the series finale — episode 13 — airing in the UK on October 30.
