Interface gone, protocol remains — that's the key takeaway from Blur's latest move. NFT marketplace Blur announced it will shut down its frontend next month, the trading interface users normally rely on to browse and place orders. But the protocol itself won't disappear along with it — it will stay operational on-chain.
In other words, Blur isn't shutting down entirely — it's just removing the outer layer that regular users click through to operate, while the underlying smart contracts continue to exist. This "frontend out, protocol stays" approach effectively cuts out the trading interface piece from Blur's setup.
