Sharpening the toe of a Chuck Taylor sounds like a design experiment, but Converse clearly intends to see it through. Following the high-top and Ox versions of the classic silhouette released earlier this year, the All Star POINTEDTOE series is now adding two low-top styles: the PA OX and GL OX. Both keep the rubber toe cap and the familiar shoe skeleton intact, but taper the front into a nearly dress-shoe-sharp point.

The PA OX plays it understated. The upper is done in glossy synthetic patent leather, paired with tonal laces and an "ALL STAR" embroidery on the tongue, keeping the color palette clean with no contrast — going for that ambiguous feel somewhere between a sneaker and a dress shoe. It comes in a subdued "Black" and a slightly more dramatic "Dark Red," both intentionally toning down visual presence to let the silhouette's lines do the talking.

The GL OX is the more conceptual pair of the two. Drawing inspiration from traditional ghillie shoes, it features a split lacing structure between the tongue and upper, leaving the center of the eyelets widely exposed and putting the thick waxed cotton laces front and center. The matte laces contrast against the glossy upper, making it the most distinct design move in this series. The GL OX comes in "Dark Cherry" and "Black," while still keeping Converse's signature details: side vents, silver eyelets, and the classic diamond-pattern outsole.

Both pairs follow the same logic that's defined this series so far — not reinventing the Chuck Taylor, but running a shape experiment on its existing frame to test whether a canvas sneaker can also speak the language of dress shoes. Pricing and release date have yet to be announced.
