Throughout its run, the SHAI 001 has deliberately kept its laces hidden — until now. Converse's signature collaboration with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is finally putting laces front and center on the upper, filling in what feels like the last missing piece of the series.

The new drop is called "Berry," done up in a Berry Shady/Canyon Dusk colorway under style code A24323C. The deep berry-red tones paired with the grayish Canyon Dusk give it more depth than the line's previous, more muted releases — and while details on the upper material remain under wraps, the simple fact that it "finally has laces" is enough to make longtime followers of the shoe take a second look.

The Converse SHAI 001 Lace Up "Berry" releases August 14, 2026 for $120, available at Converse.com, Dick's Sporting Goods, Nike.com, and Foot Locker.

Also part of the lineup is a "Cheetah" colorway, likewise priced at $120, though its release date has yet to be confirmed. Meanwhile, on another front for the brand, the Dragon Ball Z x Converse Chuck Taylor collaboration rolls out across three character colorways — "Shenron," "Goku," and "Vegeta" — with prices ranging from $80 to $100.
