Handmade Chiang Mai cotton ornaments, Thanksgiving grilling and Lanna performances shape a preview of year-end celebrations through New Year’s Day 2027.

Four Seasons Chiang Mai hangs local cotton on its Christmas tree: Weave the Joy links craft and festive tables

Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai has announced its year-end celebrations, linking local craft and shared meals through Weave the Joy. The hotel team uses locally sourced Chiang Mai cotton to make ornaments for the lobby Christmas tree, with ornament sales supporting cancer-care programmes in Thailand. A small textile provides the starting point: how can something held in a hand draw attention to the materials and makers behind a festive setting?

How do cotton ornaments retain a sense of place?

Cotton gives the decorations a material connection with Chiang Mai craft. Handmade objects encourage a closer look at texture, weave density and hanging methods before attention returns to the tree’s overall colour. This does not imply that every piece has an entirely unique shape. It shifts the scale of viewing from distant lights towards the space between hands.

The hotel says ornaments will be sold as seasonal souvenirs, with all proceeds supporting cancer-care projects. The announcement does not list individual prices or a full breakdown of the beneficiary programmes. Visitors interested in buying one to support the cause can ask about the object and programme on site. Understanding what is taken home and what receives support makes the connection between craft and charity more specific.

How do the Thanksgiving and Christmas tables differ?

On November 26, NORTH by Four Seasons opens the season with an outdoor, live-fire Thanksgiving barbecue dinner. On December 24, Rim Tai Kitchen offers Christmas Eve dinner and live music, with festive characters interacting with families. Different dates and settings provide choices beyond repeating the same menu throughout the season. Visitors can first consider whether they prefer outdoor fire cooking or a family-oriented gathering.

On Christmas Day, Rim Tai Kitchen’s lunch combines Thai, Asian and Western food, seafood and roasts. NORTH offers a fixed-price, family-sharing dinner overlooking rice fields. The distinction includes buffet selection and sharing rhythms as well as the time of day. Group size, length of stay and whether children need room for activities can all influence the choice.

How do New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day connect with Lanna culture?

Magic of Thailand takes place on the Cocktail Lawn on December 31, with grill stations, seafood, cold cuts and traditional Lanna dance and music, leading to a midnight countdown. On January 1, 2027, KHAO by Four Seasons offers a New Year gathering overlooking rice fields with live music. The announcement’s images preview festive formats and food rather than documenting the coming New Year celebrations as already completed.

Prices for individual dining events have not yet been listed in the public announcement. The different occasions should not be described as one all-inclusive ticket. Choose a preferred gathering first, then confirm prices, seats and reservation terms with the hotel. From cotton ornaments to Lanna dance, the interest is in how local materials and performance enter familiar holidays and create more specific connections with Chiang Mai.
