From Jungkook’s Leica to Asahi’s Kodak: Six Cameras and Different Ways to Photograph
M6, M11, FM3A, Minilux, X100V and FZ55 enter different creators’ daily lives. Compare focusing, exposure and portability rather than simply following a celebrity model.
The camera choices of BTS’s Jungkook, ATEEZ’s Wooyoung, SEVENTEEN’s Wonwoo, MY Q and TREASURE’s Asahi span film rangefinders, SLRs, compact film cameras and small digital models. They appear in social posts and interviews from different times, not as six cameras launched together. Celebrity examples can prompt a more useful question: do you want to focus by hand and wait for processing, or see an image immediately? Those differences shape everyday use more than whether a body looks retro.
ATEEZ’s Wooyoung has discussed his interest in cameras in an interview.
Leica M6 and M11 Look Related but Record Differently
Jungkook’s Leica M6 and M11 Glossy Black retain familiar M-series outlines but record in different ways. M6 uses 35 mm film and manual focus, requiring attention to film and exposure. M11 uses a full-frame digital sensor at up to approximately 60 megapixels and allows checking a manually focused image on the rear display. This difference in shooting rhythm matters more than both having black bodies.
M11 Glossy Black’s glossy paint, engraved top lettering and omission of the front red logo make surface details another choice. Film is not inherently more emotional than digital; the feedback arrives at a different time. Film delays the result, while digital brings capture, review and correction closer. If your habits are unclear, start with that distinction rather than treating resolution or a brand as the sole answer.
Wonwoo’s FM3A and MY Q’s Minilux Show Different Degrees of Automation
Wonwoo introduced Nikon FM3A in a SEVENTEEN video. Released in 2001, the manual-focus film SLR offers manual exposure and aperture-priority auto exposure. The latter lets the user choose an aperture while the camera sets shutter speed. It retains control without requiring every setting to be manual each time. Nikon’s official camera history also identifies its hybrid shutter as a defining feature.
Seaside chairs and sunset provide a familiar travel photography subject.
MY Q’s Leica Minilux follows another compact-film route: a 40 mm f/2.4 Summarit lens, autofocus and auto exposure, with aperture selection also available. More steps go to the camera, leaving attention for people and scenes. Both models use film, yet their portability and operation differ. When buying a discontinued camera, condition and repair options are more practical concerns than matching a single photograph.
X100V and FZ55 Record Life Digitally
Wooyoung has introduced Fujifilm X100V, with a fixed 23 mm f/2 lens and film simulations that render a scene in different tones and contrasts. Asahi’s Kodak PIXPRO FZ55 is a compact digital camera with approximately 16 megapixels, 5x optical zoom and a body-only weight of about 106 g, excluding battery and memory card. One makes a fixed viewpoint and color settings part of the process; the other offers zoom and lightness for convenient recording.

Compare the six along three axes: film or digital, manual or automatic, fixed lens or zoom. Decide which steps you want to undertake before considering size and condition; this is usually clearer than pursuing the most expensive model. Social images show use and interest at a moment, not that every work by a creator comes from the same camera. Finding a tool you keep taking outside allows photography to become your own routine.
