Matt Bellamy sounds pretty casual talking about the cost of the stage set: "The quote was more expensive than some of the houses around here in Primrose Hill, and houses here aren't exactly cheap." He's talking about a spaceship — not a metaphor, an actual physical prop Muse are bringing to the stage, paired with a laser design they've never used before. "We're trying to build a spaceship, basically," he told NME. "This time it's going more toward a space, sci-fi kind of vibe, which I think is really cool for us." As for whether the ship will actually "fly," even he's not sure: "I don't think it's gonna fly, that's why it costs more than a house, but I promise it'll be something really cool."
This ambitious stage setup will tour alongside Muse's tenth studio album, 'The Wow! Signal.' The album dropped this June, with NME awarding it four stars and calling it the band's "best album in twenty years." The band already played a small show at Brixton Academy back in April, marking their first return to the venue since 2001.
Fresh off their North American run, Muse will play two nights at Manchester's Co-op Live on November 12 and 13, followed by November 15 and 16 at London's The O2. From there they head to the continent, stopping at Berlin's Uber Arena (November 18), Milan's Unipol Dome (November 20-21), Düsseldorf's PSD Bank Dome (November 24-25), Paris' La Défense Arena (November 27), Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome (November 29-30), Montpellier's Sud de France Arena (December 3-4), before wrapping up with two shows at Zurich's AG Hallenstadion (December 7-8).
Opening the shows is Boston band Dead Poet Society, made up of frontman/guitarist Jack Underkofler, guitarist Jack Collins, bassist Dylan Brenner, and drummer Will Goodroad. They'll release their new album 'Monarch' via Spinefarm on October 2, following up 2024's 'Fission.' The album was produced by Mutemath frontman Paul Meany — who's worked with Twenty One Pilots and Pierce The Veil — and mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Adam Hawkins, whose credits include Turnstile and Yungblud. The band has already teased the new record with singles "Miami For The Weekend," "Cold," "Roach," and "Sinner Systems."
