The Air Force 1 release calendar has been packed this year with colorways and collabs of every kind — patent leather Y2K editions, buzzy collaborations, leaked info, teaser images, and a rotating cast of SB versions. But what's actually turning heads is the return of that old 2001 last.
This last first resurfaced through Nike's collaboration with Nigo, then showed up again in a white-on-white colorway. Now it's getting its fiercest look yet: full black "Triple Black."
Put the 2001 '01 last side by side with the currently circulating '07 version, and the differences aren't hard to spot. The most obvious change is in the toe box — the '01 version is narrower, more pointed, with cleaner lines, giving it a more athletic look overall compared to the '07. Based on leaked details so far, the leather grade used on the '01 also appears more refined than the '07. This "Triple Black" edition goes all-in on black, with the branding details throughout the upper also getting the full murdered-out treatment.
The Nike Air Force 1 '01 "Triple Black" has no confirmed release date yet, but it's expected to drop in the second half of 2026.
