PUMA's Iconic CLYDE Steps Onto the Green with Golf Makeover, Taps Former Shortstop Takashi Toritani as Face

A legendary shoe born in 1973 that's equally at home on the street or the court is now officially making its way onto the green. PUMA has reworked its iconic CLYDE silhouette into a golf shoe—the CLYDE GOLF—keeping the same round-toe, low-top profile intact. Rather than piling on exaggerated athletic tech lines, the design quietly tucks its functional upgrades into the details.

The outsole switches to a spikeless design, balancing traction with the natural feel of everyday walking, while the heel gets a flattened structure for added stability during your swing. The upper is treated with waterproofing to handle changing weather conditions. In short, this is a golf shoe that still looks unmistakably like a CLYDE—not a classic silhouette torn down and rebuilt from scratch.

The launch comes in five colorways—white, green, red, blue, and navy—priced at 14,300 yen, available simultaneously at PUMA stores nationwide, the PUMA App, and the official online store.

For the release visuals, PUMA tapped former professional baseball player Takashi Toritani as the face of the campaign. He's not a golfer by trade—he's known throughout the industry as a certified golf obsessive.
