QURO Bangkok Riverside joins Hyatt: choosing a 62-room riverside stay with an art lobby and rooftop pool
Thailand’s first Unscripted by Hyatt is a rebranded riverside hotel. All rooms have balconies, but only some have river views; check room names and facility hours.
A new choice on Bangkok’s riverfront comes from repositioning an existing property. On October 20, 2026, Hyatt announced that QURO Bangkok Riverside had joined Unscripted by Hyatt as the collection’s first hotel in Thailand. Previously operated as The StandardX Bangkok Phra Arthit, the 62-room property on Phra Arthit Road brings art, neighbourhood life and Chao Phraya River views into one hospitality proposition.
The rooftop pool and loungers extend along the Chao Phraya River.
All 62 rooms have balconies, but not all have river views
The hotel is at 45/1 Phra Arthit Road in Bangkok’s old-town Bang Lamphu area, beside Phra Arthit Pier. Official room information lists private balconies in every room, while views vary by category. “Riverside hotel” should therefore not be read as meaning every room faces the river. The booking page separates standard king and twin rooms from Deluxe and Premium king rooms with river views, making the full room name the place to start.
Published room photographs use a black-and-white palette: dark headboards and curtains meet white bedding, pale floors and round wall lights. The contrast keeps attention on the bed, daylight and circulation, while the balcony acts as a transition between room and neighbourhood. For travellers focused on exploring the old town on foot, a room’s practical layout can matter more than a single decorative object. Views shown in photographs also cannot replace the view conditions of the category actually booked.
The official standard king room photograph contrasts dark curtains with white bedding.
From lobby art spaces to the rooftop pool
QURO GALLERY and curated retail space QURO SOURCED occupy the lobby, alongside BEANS Coffee Roaster. Rather than confining art to guestroom walls, exhibitions, retail and coffee share an easy-to-reach arrival level, giving guests a reason to linger before returning to their rooms. Exterior photographs contrast horizontal balconies on a white building with large sculptural reliefs on its facade, making art visible from the street.
The rooftop has Point of View bar and a pool. Official pool hours are 7am to 7pm daily, while the bar lists 11am to midnight; the two should not be treated as having identical hours. Pool photographs show riverside loungers, dark umbrellas and glass balustrades, with views extending directly to the opposite bank. It is a useful place to consider the hotel’s shared views, and a reminder that a river-view room is not the only way to see the river from its public spaces.
Dining, transport and booking details to compare
The hotel’s Silpa Riverside Restaurant serves Thai food, while BEANS lists daily hours of 7am to 4pm. Plans built around coffee or an evening rooftop drink should use the relevant venue’s hours rather than the pool schedule. Phra Arthit Pier provides a waterborne route, but actual sailings, stops and fares need checking for the travel date. Being by the river does not mean direct boats connect to every destination.
Joining Unscripted by Hyatt allows the hotel to retain a relatively independent spatial character while entering Hyatt’s global platform. For travellers, the practical comparison remains room category, breakfast inclusion, cancellation rules and applicable membership conditions. QURO’s riverfront location, lobby art and rooftop facilities meet different needs. Decide what the trip requires before comparing total room costs, rather than relying on the appeal of a “new hotel” label.
