The 1996 Reebok Question, originally built for Allen Iverson, has now been broken down into a digital file. Reebok and 3D-printed footwear brand Zellerfeld have joined forces on the Question 96/26, launching as the first release in the Question's 30th anniversary celebration series. Rather than a traditional retro remake, this shoe reimagines the entire silhouette through 3D printing technology.
The Question 96/26 preserves the original basketball shoe's stance proportions and silhouette lines, with the upper formed through a continuous, flowing one-piece structure. The signature oval midsole window and honeycomb cushioning geometry have also been reinterpreted to suit 3D printing craftsmanship. This first drop comes in two colorways, Lilac and Stone, translating Iverson's classic shoe prototype into a digital design file that can be continuously updated, produced on demand, and perpetually evolved.
Compared to retros that simply swap materials or colorways, what Reebok and Zellerfeld are doing here is closer to treating the shoe like software on rails—using advanced robotics to preserve the core proportions and identifying features of the original design, while building a digital-native platform capable of ongoing iteration, paving the way for further moves in the 30th anniversary series.
The Reebok Question 96/26 will launch in limited quantities on August 25, 2026, at 12PM ET, available exclusively through the Zellerfeld online store, priced at $169.
