SOREL's answer is the Ambler Mule, which compresses the silhouette language of the brand's signature Canadian Caribou boot into a low-cut shoe with no heel counter, ready to slip on and off. It drops as part of the Fall '26 lineup, priced at $130.
The open-back construction is the most obvious compromise here, but SOREL didn't cut corners on materials to match. The upper is built from waterproof nubuck with a protective leather shell layered on top, keeping the brand's signature rugged silhouette intact while shutting out rain and grime. Inside, an EVA midsole paired with soft textile lining provides cushioning whether you're on city streets or a weekend trip. In other words, the Ambler holds onto boot-level water resistance while shedding the weight and coverage of the original shaft.
