Xbox's 25th Anniversary Gear Goes All-In on See-Through Green, with Razer, 8BitDo, and GameSir Joining the Nostalgia Trip

As Xbox approaches its 25th anniversary, Microsoft has teamed up with brands like Razer, 8BitDo, and GameSir to roll out a lineup of translucent green accessories, paying tribute to the shell of that iconic 2001 console.

Translucent green is the one common thread running through this wave of accessories. Microsoft has brought in a bunch of accessory makers to mark Xbox's upcoming 25th anniversary with this color — even though the original 2001 console actually had a black shell with a green ring logo, and the clear green casing was a variant that came later. Still, this color has since become an unspoken visual shorthand among longtime fans.

Razer is going all-in this time, giving both the Basilisk V3 Pro 35K mouse and the BlackWidow V4 75% mechanical keyboard a green translucent shell, with the internals left completely untouched. Both were already well-regarded devices, so this is purely a cosmetic limited edition. Also getting the green treatment is Razer's Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed earbuds, which support the brand's own HyperSpeed 2.4GHz wireless streaming tech, letting you quickly switch between audio sources.

8BitDo has rolled out a green charging dock compatible with Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One controllers, while GameSir has redesigned its X5 Lite mobile controller in a translucent green finish, supporting both iOS and Android devices so you can turn your phone into a handheld console.

Interestingly, two items in this lineup skipped the green trend altogether. The Backbone Pro Xbox 25th Anniversary Edition, another mobile controller, comes in three colorways — but instead of letting players pick, it's sold blind-box style, so you get whatever color you're dealt. PowerA's Xbox Sling Bag, meanwhile, isn't a case for a console or controller at all, but a sling bag designed for the Xbox Ally and Ally X handhelds. It's mostly black with just touches of green as accents, making it, ironically, the closest thing in this whole lineup to the original 2001 Xbox's color scheme.

All of the accessories above are currently available for pre-order through the Xbox official store or each brand's own retail channels. As part of the same celebration, Microsoft has also teased a translucent green Xbox Series X console, set to launch in November.
