GIMA 17 on October 31: Wonjin joins Elephant Gym, Tempalay closes, and how to claim tickets or watch online
The Taipei Music Center ceremony begins at 19:00, with backstage coverage from 17:45. A guide to the overseas releases, three Taiwanese collaborations, the live-performance winner and free-ticket conditions.
The 17th Golden Indie Music Awards will take place on October 31, 2026, at Taipei Music Center’s Performance Hall, with the ceremony beginning at 19:00. Beyond the awards, the complete performance lineup puts Asian musical exchange in focus: Wonjin will collaborate with Elephant Gym, Japan’s Tempalay will close the show, and three Taiwanese collaborative acts will join the already announced Best Live Performance winner. Anyone hoping to attend should arrange a ticket first; a free ceremony does not mean unrestricted walk-in admission.
Wonjin and Tempalay: two overseas routes through new releases
Wonjin will bring his debut solo album Mangsangrok, released on October 20. This is scheduled as his first public overseas performance as a solo artist, rather than his first visit to Taiwan. He previously performed in Taiwan with Balming Tiger; this time he will collaborate with Elephant Gym and present Best Live Performance. The shift from group membership to solo work and collaboration with a Taiwanese band offers more to follow than nationality alone.
Wonjin will perform with Elephant Gym at the GIMA ceremony.Wonjin’s new album Mangsangrok was released on October 20.
Tempalay will provide the closing performance and present the Best Asian Creative Artist award. The band’s official information confirms that its sixth album, ATOMEW, was released on September 2. The new material and the group’s psychedelic rock performance are points of interest for its return to Taiwan. These are announced programming directions, not a confirmed setlist. Presenting an award also does not mean the band has won it.
Three collaborations and the live-performance award already decided
The Taiwanese lineup is not simply a succession of solo appearances. MyLanguagePracticeBook brings together DJ MR.SKIN, DJ Didilong and SherryZ; another pairing features FunkyMo, Chen Yi Heng and Allison Lin; Sauljaljui and Yuhan Su will collaborate with TBT. The announcement identifies these as collaborative units. Their division of voices is something to watch, rather than assuming every name will receive a separate performance slot.
That’s My Shhh has already won this year’s Best Live Performance at the GIMA LIVE competition and will perform again and receive the award at the ceremony. Its result therefore follows a different timeline from the other awards to be revealed that night. Distinguishing the known winner from performance guests helps prevent a programme preview being mistaken for an awards prediction. The lineup above is not the stage running order either.
Claiming tickets, entering the venue and watching the stream
Tickets are claimed through iNDIEVOX and collected through ibon. Each account may claim up to two, with seats assigned by the system rather than selected individually. Claims opened at noon on October 17 and continue while tickets remain. Collection at a convenience store is required within two hours, with a TWD 30 handling fee per order. That amount is a collection fee, not a concert ticket price; consult the live official page for current availability.
The venue is at No. 99, Section 8, Civic Boulevard, Nangang District, Taipei. Doors open at 17:30, backstage coverage starts at 17:45 and the awards ceremony begins at 19:00. Unoccupied seats may be filled from 18:45 according to actual seating conditions. Those unable to attend can watch through GIMA’s official Facebook and YouTube, with options including Chinese, sign-language and English channels for the ceremony. Distinguishing backstage programming from the main event makes it easier to plan either a visit or online viewing without treating 19:00 as the only start time.
