"I really don't want to do this... they've already finished filming." Hugh Jackman's line in front of the camera sounded less like a promo and more like a coerced confession. He himself tweeted afterward: "If this looks like I'm recording this video against my will. It's because I AM."
This clip dropped alongside Marvel Studios' new trailer for *Avengers: Doomsday* at D23. Off-camera, Deadpool kept "directing" Hugh Jackman, pushing him to ask Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige: with the cast already pushing 28 people, is there still room for one more hand? Halfway through, Jackman couldn't help but question whether any of this actually made sense—prompting Deadpool to snap from the sidelines, "Just follow the damn script!" All Jackman could muster in response was, "Man, I really hate you." Deadpool grinned back: "I know. So do I."
This isn't the first time Deadpool has caused chaos. Last month at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), Ryan Reynolds barged into the *Doomsday* panel in full Deadpool costume, grilling the team about when the movie was shooting and whether there was still a chance for "reshoots" or a "last-minute addition." Robert Downey Jr. shot him down on the spot, pointing out that filming had already wrapped.
Two major events, the same bit played twice—Marvel still hasn't officially confirmed whether Deadpool or Wolverine will actually appear in *Doomsday*. But repeating this teaser routine over and over says something on its own: it feels less like clarification and more like a calculated silence. After hanging up his claws in *Logan*, Hugh Jackman was once asked under what circumstances he'd consider returning, and he half-jokingly mentioned an Avengers crossover. Now Marvel keeps bringing that offhand joke back into play.
By comparison, the real highlight of this trailer was saved for last: an entire army of Sentinel robots. These giant mutant-hunting machines are one of the most iconic threats from the *X-Men* comics, and their appearance alongside Doctor Doom, the Avengers, and the Fantastic Four carries serious weight.
*Avengers: Doomsday* is set to hit Taiwan theaters on December 16, 2026. Whether Deadpool and Wolverine will officially join the fight remains unconfirmed.
