A close-up shot of an analog stick on a controller, then the camera pulls back to reveal a pillow embroidered with a green Xbox logo — this is what IKEA's official Instagram account posted in a teaser video this Tuesday. In just a few seconds, it revealed something nobody saw coming: the Swedish brand known for affordable furniture and meatballs is teaming up with Microsoft's Xbox division.
The video doesn't reveal any product names or prices, only that single furniture piece that appears to be shaped like a controller, plus the green pillow. Whether these two items are part of a pillow set, a rug, or something else entirely, we can only guess based on the teaser footage for now.
Timing-wise, more details will likely drop at Gamescom. Xbox's showcase will be split across two livestreams on August 26 and 27, featuring titles like *Fable*, *Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4*, and *Minecraft: Legends 2*. Whether the full IKEA collab reveal will be squeezed in there remains unconfirmed.
This isn't Xbox's first move into home living. Five years ago, Xbox launched a mini fridge that was seen at the time as a quirky one-off experiment; looking back now, that crossover might have just been the warm-up act for this IKEA collab.
Neither IKEA nor Xbox has officially announced the full product lineup, release date, or pricing for the collab yet.
