Four IWCs on Kimi Antonelli’s Wrist: Ceramic Colors, a Steel Ingenieur and a Purple Team Watch
From TOP GUN Oceana to the Singapore team edition, four references connect materials, colors and bracelets with racing imagery without relying on a price ranking.
Images of Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS driver Kimi Antonelli record more than trophies: IWC watches become details to examine. Blue TOP GUN Oceana, white-ceramic Le Petit Prince, a blue-dial Ingenieur Automatic 40 and a purple official team chronograph show one wearer moving between materials and colors. Their differences involve more than changing a dial color; they include how a case and its strap or bracelet form a whole on the wrist.
Blue and White Ceramic Extend Color Beyond the Dial
Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Oceana, reference IW389404, creates a continuous block of blue through its ceramic case, dial and coordinating strap. Compared with a watch that only uses a bright dial, color extends around the wrist and case sides, creating a more complete presence. Arabic numerals and chronograph subdials maintain the Pilot’s Watch family’s functional order, keeping the color grounded in a clear time-reading structure.

Le Petit Prince, reference IW389410, combines white zirconium-oxide ceramic with a deep-blue gradient sunburst dial and white rubber strap. IWC introduced it at Watches and Wonders in Geneva on April 14, 2026. A titanium back bears the Little Prince, while the automatic 69381 movement offers 46 hours of power reserve. The white case draws attention to the frame before the blue center. Both it and Oceana are chronographs, yet their visual weights differ clearly.

Ingenieur Connects a Steel Case with Its Bracelet
Ingenieur Automatic 40, reference IW328907, returns to a steel case, bracelet and blue dial. Diameter is 40 mm, thickness 10.7 mm, with official water resistance of 10 bar. The grid dial, five bezel screws and integrated-looking bracelet establish its identity together. It continues the design language of Gérald Genta’s 1970s Ingenieur SL, making geometry and metal surfaces apparent before complicated functions.

Unlike a three-subdial chronograph layout, this model concentrates attention on time, date and the steel exterior. As the links extend around the wrist, the watch becomes a continuous surface reaching out from the case rather than simply a circle attached to a strap. For someone who likes blue but wants another everyday character, similar color with different material and structure offers a distinct choice.
A Purple Team Watch Puts Place and Collective Identity into Design
Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, reference IW388121, combines a titanium case with purple dial and strap. Announced by IWC on August 27, 2026, its Singapore-race color takes inspiration from the national flower, Vanda Miss Joaquim. It concerns more than a driver’s taste: as an official watch worn by team members, its color connects both a place and a collective identity.

Compare the four in three layers: whether color stays on the dial or reaches the case; whether the strap contrasts with the case or continues it; and whether chronograph subdials provide information you need. Race photographs offer wearing context, while references and materials require the brand’s information. Even without following every change in championship points, these wrist details reveal how IWC brings aviation, engineering and racing culture into one product world.
