Marvel’s gemstone Infinity Gauntlet heads to its first auction in December
East Continental Gems’ one-of-one creation will be offered December 8 in Abu Dhabi. Its $25 million asking figure from 2022 is not this auction’s starting price; bidders need pre-approval.
Marvel’s one-of-one gemstone Infinity Gauntlet replica will make its auction debut at Julien’s Auctions’ Pop Culture Legends evening sale on December 8, 2026, at Rosewood Abu Dhabi. Created by New York’s East Continental Gems for Marvel, the collector version follows film design files while substituting six genuine gemstones for the fictional Infinity Stones. A Bahrain tour is planned for November before the sale, with exact visiting arrangements still to be announced.
A familiar gauntlet takes on a material scale
Standing nearly 20 inches, or about 50cm, tall, the object turns an oversized screen image into something viewable in the round. Marvel provided layered design files so the production team could follow the fingers, back of the hand and forearm. In photographs, coloured stones and radiating details anchor the front; a side view reveals the green stone at the thumb, while the palm has its own engraved patterns. Three angles explain the form beyond repeating a frontal image.
The side angle reveals the green stone at the thumb.A rear-facing view shows the palm and forearm’s different patterns.
The six stones translate Time, Space, Reality, Power, Mind and Soul into visible colours. The current auction announcement puts their combined weight at more than 170 carats and describes them as untreated and unenhanced. Treatment to improve colour or clarity is a different question from cutting and setting. The emerald representing Time was unearthed more than a century ago and held in East Continental Gems’ collection for over 30 years before being used here.
An idea in 2019, a reveal in 2022, an auction in 2026
The project began in 2019 when East Continental Gems CEO Adam Mirzoeff saw a toy gauntlet on a senior Marvel executive’s desk and suggested making a genuine-gem version. The finished object appeared at San Diego Comic-Con in 2022, when it was offered at $25 million. The present first refers to auction, rather than the object having just been created or having sold for that amount in 2022.
The current estimate is available privately on request, so $25 million should not be treated as this sale’s reserve, starting bid or predicted result. For a general audience, the more useful question is what evidence supports a screen-inspired collectible’s identity. Design files connect its form, gemological documents address materials, and creator and provenance records supply context. Each answers a different question that a large price figure cannot replace.
Confirmed documents and bidding requirements
The lot will carry certification for each stone, with American Gemological Laboratories involved and additional Gemological Institute of America documentation for the diamond. It also includes a certificate of authenticity signed by Jim Starlin, creator of the original Marvel Comics Infinity Gauntlet storyline, plus the original fitted presentation case. These are announced accompanying items; full lot details, photography and certification documents are due before the sale and should be checked against that formal list.
Bidders must obtain Julien’s Auctions’ approval in advance: general registration alone does not establish eligibility for this lot. Approved participants can bid in person, by telephone or by absentee bid. The venue is Rosewood on Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi, on December 8; see the auction announcement for updates. Distinguishing dates, version, historical asking figure and current conditions makes the new development in this pop-culture collectible story clearer.
