P5X 5.4.2 in Taiwan: Besa’s Board Challenges and Custom Friend Card Rooms

The October 29 Taiwan update adds board puzzles, item-based battles and custom Daifugō rooms, alongside a permanent trial chapter and character development changes.

P5X 5.4.2 in Taiwan: Besa’s Board Challenges and Custom Friend Card Rooms

Taiwan operator IWPLAY announced the launch of Persona 5: The Phantom X version 5.4.2 on October 29, 2026. Its Chinese version title is 奇想盛放的舞台. Two useful starting points are Besa’s board puzzles and item-based battles, and the new friend-invitation option in Daifugō, where players create rooms and choose match formats and special rules. A permanent Velvet Trial chapter also arrives. Plan around your available time and team development rather than treating every addition as the same limited-time challenge.

Besa’s party separates puzzles from combat

The Besa event takes place in a special Palace within Mementos. Its temporary manager, the Shadow Besa, holds and broadcasts game parties to stimulate the Shadows’ desires and keep a Palace without its Treasure from collapsing. That is the story premise, not an instruction for players to livestream their own sessions.

One challenge asks players to use different pieces’ properties to reach objectives in fewer moves. Another uses special items and their effects to help defeat approaching Shadows. The first encourages reading the board and planning action order; the second centres on combining items and combat. Tasks award Meta Jewels, programme points and development materials, while points can be exchanged for virtual items at the event shop. Check the in-game list for the actual rewards and requirements.

Friend rooms add three optional card rules

The Daifugō friend mode allows room creation and a single-game or three-game format, with optional special rules. The three-of-a-kind revolution rule triggers a revolution or counter-revolution when three identical cards are played. A random wild-card rule generates flexible cards, while the no-WONDER option removes WONDER cards from the deck. These change the conditions of play; none is a guaranteed winning strategy.

Friends learning the mode can agree on one modifier before experimenting with combinations. A single game may suit a shorter break, while a three-game format gives the same group several rounds. That is a scheduling suggestion, not an officially stated fixed match duration. Countdown clocks, currencies and scores in promotional screenshots reflect the captured interface, not resources every player receives or a reliable deadline today.

Check permanent trials and limited activities separately

Velvet Trial gains the permanent chapter 千面浮光, whose 眾生之相 effect increases damage for characters of the same classification. Revisit classifications and skill combinations when building a team. The phantom trial adds apparitions of Li Yaoling’s 太平樂 variant and Dogenzaka Ryuji in multi-stage battles, while Minami Miyashita receives the 眷佑 and 潤澤 potentials. These concern different trial and development systems, not one newly released character card.

Other additions include daily tasks and skill challenges in 統統創飛, collecting energy to advance an alternate-world mileage track. The returning mushroom-themed capsule series provides home display decorations, while the selection contract and corresponding limited five-star weapons remain available. Separate permanent chapters from time-limited events, and check the current Taiwan-service notices for closing dates, entry conditions and costs rather than importing another region’s schedule. Start with a board challenge, a friend card room or team trials to see how the update changes your own play routine.
