RIMOWA × MYKITA: Distinguishing MR007, MR008 and the Black MR006
The October 15 eyewear additions bring round stainless-steel-and-aluminium MR007 frames and the slimmer wraparound MR008 shield. European recommended prices range from €515–€645, alongside a black MR006 aviator.
RIMOWA and MYKITA expanded their eyewear collaboration on October 15, 2026, with HERITAGE’s round MR007, VISOR’s slimmer MR008 and a black version of the existing MR006 aviator. These are three outlines—round, teardrop and continuous shield—not one frame recoloured. Distinguishing model numbers and lens construction is a more useful starting point than remembering silver or black alone.
How does MR007 combine the brands’ materials?
MR007 brings MYKITA’s thin stainless-steel frame together with RIMOWA’s anodised aluminium rings. The circular outline makes metal edges, bridge and temple connections more visible. New silver and black versions differ in expression: silver draws a distinct line in the light, while black gathers the edges into a more continuous silhouette. Photographs show that visual difference, but actual weight and pressure still require trying the glasses on.

The existing HERITAGE MR006 is a teardrop aviator, now adding monochromatic black. Even in the same colour, the round and aviator frames differ around the brow, bridge and downward extension of the lenses. MR007 should not be mistaken for an MR006 colourway. Published European recommended prices are €595 for black MR006, €595 for silver MR007 and €645 for black MR007, so colour also carries a price difference here.

MR008 offers a slimmer wraparound shield
MR008 continues VISOR’s continuous-shield direction with a slimmer outline. Its specially developed toric lens construction and MYLON retaining clip are key components. A Cashmere Silver frame with a Shadow Silver shield creates a monochromatic expression associated with industrial materials. Compared with separate round lenses, it emphasises horizontal coverage around the eyes.
Silver MR008 uses a continuous shield for horizontal coverage.
The published European recommended price for silver or black MR008 is €515. A shield-like appearance does not automatically qualify it as occupational or sports protective equipment; use should follow the product’s intended purpose. Compare nose-pad contact, temple stability, field of view and clearance from the cheeks. With such different outlines, a campaign model’s appearance cannot establish the same fit on another face.
Berlin production and The Rehearsal
The range is developed between Cologne and Berlin and handcrafted at MYKITA HAUS in Berlin, with an authenticity certificate for each pair. Nina Hoss and Leon Dame appear in The Rehearsal, changing characters by changing glasses in a stripped-back rehearsal setting. That translates the effects of frames on expression and posture into a readable story rather than filling the image with logos.
The additions join earlier shapes instead of replacing the entire range. Channels include MYKITA, selected RIMOWA stores, retail partners and both websites; local prices and stock require separate checks. European recommended prices are not a Taiwanese checkout total.
