The song is called "Brand New Chanel$," yet the woman singing it says she hates anything new. That's probably the most interesting contradiction to come out of Slayyyter's week.

The new track dropped to mark the launch of her "Worst Girl in the World" tour, following up on her April album "Wor$t Girl in America." Since that release, she's kept busy: she made her late-night TV debut on Fallon, performing "Dance" in a beer-can bralette, then followed it up with the single "Broke Bitch Free$tyle" and a feature on Madeon's "Fire Away." Last weekend, the tour kicked off in her hometown of St. Louis.

But the more interesting story this week is the Billboard cover interview she did alongside Bella Kay and Trueno. When the conversation turned to AI, Slayyyter didn't hold back: "I don't really like anything new — I don't even like my Roomba." She continued to interviewer Jason Lipshutz: "AI is unfortunately taking over and flooding into music, film, art, basically everything, and I think people are going to gravitate even more toward things that feel real."

That statement reads especially interesting against the backdrop of her own work. Slayyyter's song titles have always leaned into blatant, almost campy excess — luxury logos, money anxiety, self-deprecating lines like "Broke Bitch" — all spelled out right in the titles, with music that's steeped in a highly digital hyperpop aesthetic. Someone who lives inside that aesthetic positioning herself as a tech skeptic in an interview — distancing herself even from a household robot vacuum — is a notable beat. She didn't frame it as some grand statement; it just slipped out in response to a question. But set against her over-the-top stage persona, that attitude is worth more attention than the new single itself.

No details have been released yet about which album "Brand New Chanel$" will appear on, and the rest of the tour dates haven't been announced either.
