Taylor Swift Announces Expanded Edition of "The Life Of A Showgirl" — Four Bonus Tracks Drop Friday

A trip to Sweden that started out as a simple celebration ended up turning into four new songs. Taylor Swift confirmed that she, along with producers Max Martin and Shellback, traveled to Sweden last year to look back on and celebrate the record-breaking first week of "The Life Of A Showgirl." "But there just happened to be a studio there, so we did what we always do when we're feeling it: wrote more songs."

That batch of songs is now officially titled "The Life Of A Showgirl: The Encore," set for full release this Friday, September 26, with pre-orders and pre-saves now open. The album will feature four new tracks, including "Patient Zero" — the single Swift teased earlier on social media, which will drop first this Friday.

The original version of "The Life Of A Showgirl" was released in October 2025 as Swift's 12th studio album, also produced by Max Martin and Shellback, featuring singles like "The Fate Of Ophelia," "Opalite," and "Elizabeth Taylor." In her announcement, Swift said fans helped the album achieve the biggest first-week sales in history: "These four songs exist because of your passion."

Eagle-eyed fans had already sensed something was coming. Swift's Emmy Awards performance for the "Law & Order: SVU" themed skit was found to contain an anagram hint spelling out "encore," and the 12 exclamation points she used when teasing "Patient Zero" were also interpreted as a sign that the Showgirl era isn't over yet.

This weekend, Swift will receive the inaugural Artist Director Honors award at the MTV VMAs.
