A red telephone booth stands on a street corner next to a subway entrance—an ordinary sight you'd find anywhere in London, until the bricks extend downward to reveal the real world hidden beneath. This time, LEGO didn't build the Ministry of Magic as a flat, single-facade building. Instead, they created a vertical cross-section: cutting straight down from street level, through Arthur Weasley's and Dolores Umbridge's offices, through the courtroom where Harry stands trial, and finally arriving at the Hall of Prophecy at the very bottom. This is the LEGO Harry Potter Ministry of Magic collector's set, 3,491 pieces, built to mark the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

The focus of this model isn't any single scene—it's the act of descending itself. The ground level recreates a London street scene complete with the iconic red phone booth, serving as the hidden entrance clue to the Ministry. Moving further down, the bricks open up the Ministry's interior space for layer-by-layer exploration; official materials mention several Easter eggs tucked inside for fans to discover. The bottom-most Hall of Prophecy features a working mechanism—the shelves collapse just like in the film, bringing that iconic scene directly into brick form.

The set comes with 14 minifigures. Hermione, Ron, and Voldemort are all included, but the real highlight worth noting is Arabella Figg—this marks her first-ever appearance as a minifigure. There's also a newly developed piece: the Lynx Patronus belonging to Kingsley Shacklebolt, the magical guardian responsible for relaying messages between the Order of the Phoenix and the Ministry in the films.

The finished dimensions speak to its intended audience: standing over 20 inches tall, 13.5 inches wide, and 6 inches deep once assembled, the packaging is marked 18+, clearly positioning this as a product for collectors rather than the children's market. The release date was also deliberately chosen—timed to Back to Hogwarts Day, folding the 25th anniversary celebration into a date fans already mark on their calendars.

The LEGO Harry Potter Ministry of Magic collector's set (item 76476) will be available early through LEGO Insiders on August 29, followed by a wide release on LEGO.com and in LEGO stores starting September 1. Pricing information was not provided in the original announcement.
