CONVERSE × PHANTACI Unveils Friends & Family Jack Purcell PDM, Yellow Smile Meets Sky-Blue Sole

The character of a white sneaker often reveals itself after a second look. CONVERSE and PHANTACI have unveiled a new friends & family exclusive Jack Purcell PDM, giving the familiar "smile" detail at the toe a bright yellow hue, then pulling in contrast with a sky-blue sole. According to press materials provided by the brand, this collaboration takes inspiration from the colors and competitive spirit of summer tennis, continuing both parties' shared direction of bringing sports culture into street style.

Rather than plastering the shoe with match-day imagery, this pair reworks the classic silhouette through localized changes. Photos released by the brand keep the shoe body mostly white, with yellow concentrated on details like the iconic smile line at the toe; it's only when you shift your gaze to the sole that the sky-blue color fully appears. The two bright hues sit in different spots, giving the shoe distinct focal points from the front, side, and flipped-over angles.

The most rewarding detail to examine up close is the detachable zip tongue. A metal zipper runs along the center of the upper, lining up alongside the eyelets and laces on either side, adding a layer of structure to what would otherwise be a clean low-top silhouette. Per the brand's description, this detachable design allows for different styling variations; it functions both as a practical feature and as the most immediate visual signature of this PDM edition.

PHANTACI's star motif, meanwhile, is tucked into the shoe's finer details. A previously released CHUCK 70 X friends & family exclusive similarly drew inspiration from tennis matches; this time, they've switched to the Jack Purcell silhouette and its signature toe cap, letting a similar concept unfold on a different shape.
