daisuke tanabe’s Ginza pop-up opens October 31: three coats from season 04 atom
The Barneys New York Ginza presentation explores shearling, silk-cashmere and corduroy. Here are the three outerwear designs, material details and tax-inclusive Japanese prices.
daisuke tanabe will hold a pop-up at Barneys New York Ginza from October 31 to November 8, 2026, focusing on the autumn/winter 2026 season 04 collection, atom. Founded by Daisuke Tanabe in 2024, the womenswear and menswear label builds fictional worlds from cinema, literature and photography, bringing traditional craft together with modern techniques. Alongside denim, the atlas 2026, tyrell and titan_corduroy outerwear designs offer three distinct approaches to leather surfaces, double-faced textiles and insulation.
atlas 2026: leather and fleece in dialogue
The ¥451,000 atlas 2026 uses French sheepskin, specially dyed during tanning and given a distressed finish. Italian vegetable-tanned calf-leather tapes and Swiss Riri zippers define the construction. A fastening tab secures the neck warmer, with photographs showing the difference between an open and closed collar. Fleece also appears at the cuffs and hem, creating layers against the drier, matte-looking exterior leather.
The folded-down collar reveals fleece and the zipper. The raised collar reveals its leather interior.
The visual focus is not one large graphic, but contrasts between shading, seams and edges. Larger leather panels and fewer seams preserve the back’s shape, while the front zipper introduces a direct vertical line. Anyone seeking substantial-looking outerwear can compare how the collar positions alter upper-body proportions. The photographs explain construction, but cannot by themselves establish softness, weight or real-world warmth.
Large panels and seams define the back of atlas 2026.
tyrell and titan create volume differently
The ¥440,000 tyrell is a long coat in double-faced silk and cashmere, with saddle-shoulder sleeves and no lining according to the brand’s product page. A detachable collar combines Karagan lamb with calf leather, while the cuffs also detach; original Bakelite buttons complete the design. Official photographs compare the fur collar attached, removed and raised. The coat therefore has more than one fixed expression: changes around the neck can shift its visual centre.

The shorter titan_corduroy uses Italian corduroy and costs ¥198,000 including tax. The official product page specifies 700 fill power, with down packs only in the body, a quilted lining and a Riri zipper. That is distinct from insulating every part of the jacket. Fill power describes loft rather than a directly convertible temperature rating. Vertical corduroy texture and the rounder short silhouette also separate it clearly from the long tyrell.
Black corduroy gives titan_corduroy a short, rounded outline. The back shows titan_corduroy’s rounded short volume.
Ginza dates, prices and product information
The venue is Barneys New York Ginza in the Kojun Building at 6-8-7 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. Announced hours are 11am–8pm local time. On October 25 the event remains forthcoming, so its announcement does not guarantee store stock. Actual colours and sizes should be checked with the shop. All three figures—¥451,000, ¥440,000 and ¥198,000—are Japanese tax-inclusive yen prices and exclude any further costs associated with cross-border purchases.
Compare materials and measurements in daisuke tanabe’s official outerwear catalogue. The useful question is not only whether a coat looks vintage, but how a removable collar, the placement of insulation and different surfaces affect daily use. Relating those details to familiar coat lengths, layering thickness and collar preferences makes the atom collection’s concrete design choices clearer, beyond the price of its materials.
