André Leon Talley had a signature habit: sitting front row at fashion week, not in the season's haute couture, but in Phat Farm, Billionaire Boys Club, and Dapper Dan. In the Vogue editor circles of the '90s, dressing like that was provocative — nobody else did it. He did. Denim Tears' FW26 collection isn't just another tribute tee collab; it's a reconstruction of that exact sartorial habit, translated into 153 individual pieces.

This is the first apparel collaboration officially authorized by the André Leon Talley Estate since his death. The collection features the official NAACP-licensed logo printed on custom tees, a new Stüssy Tears colorway, and Billionaire Boys Club elements reworked into outerwear. There's also a capsule collaboration with LA-based artist Spacebrat. Outerwear anchors the collection: PrimaLoft-filled puffer jackets and vests, workwear jackets, leather pieces, and a reversible varsity jacket. Denim Tears' signature cotton wreath motif is broken down into four embroidered variations — Paisley, Monogram, Peace Wreath, and Single Wreath — laid across a new seasonal color palette.

The lookbook features designer Andre Walker, Edward Buchanan, and fashion journalist Ashantéa Austin — a casting choice that speaks for itself, representing exactly what Talley spent his life blending: African diasporic dress, Black-owned brands, and traditional couture.

Denim Tears founder Tremaine Emory put it plainly in the announcement: "André was the first person in fashion to champion Black designers like Phat Farm, Billionaire Boys Club, and Dapper Dan — sitting front row in their clothes when nobody else would. This collection is about the way he effortlessly blended diasporic dress, Black designers, and traditional fashion. From the '90s until he passed, he always looked chic, luxurious, cool, comfortable, sporty — and unmistakably Black."

The Denim Tears x André Leon Talley Estate FW26 collection will roll out across five drops. The first launches August 14, 2026 at 11am ET, available online and through Denim Tears' official channels, with a physical release at Africa Diaspora Goods, 176 Spring St, New York. Dates for the remaining four drops have not yet been announced.
