The gear shifter grows out of the silhouette of a No handbag, drawstring still attached. This isn't hyperbole—it's a real detail sitting inside the cabin of a convertible 911 from the Singer Vehicle Design x Louis Vuitton collaboration. On the other car's roof rests a handcrafted surfboard inlaid with the LV monogram in oak and walnut. Two cars, two obsessions.

What makes this collaboration worth noting isn't that it's just another crossover—it's Louis Vuitton's own claim that this marks the first time the 172-year-old French luxury house has co-branded a finished product with another label. The project started small: LV's watch director Jean Arnault originally just wanted a custom dashboard clock made. It snowballed into two complete cars.

Both vehicles are built on a Porsche 964-generation 911 base, produced between 1989 and 1994. Singer, headquartered in Southern California, stripped each down to the bare chassis, rebuilt the body structure, fitted carbon fiber body panels, then layered on the customization from there. The hardtop version follows Singer's Classic spec, finished in a saffron-and-cobalt-blue paint scheme, powered by a 390-horsepower, air-cooled, naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six paired with a six-speed manual. The convertible goes the Classic Turbo route, painted a white close to the limestone found around Paris with gold accents, powered by a 510-horsepower, water-cooled, twin-turbocharged, intercooled 3.8-liter engine, also paired with a six-speed manual.

Arnault personally directed the exterior look of the hardtop version. The interior seats feature the malletage checkerboard pattern from LV's classic trunks, while the owner's luggage includes custom-made Bisten and Keepall pieces, plus a bag designed specifically to hold a helmet. The roof rack carries custom skis and that same wood-grain surfboard. The convertible was helmed instead by Nicolas Ghesquière, LV's women's artistic director, who described the collaboration as "reconnecting" with his own interest in car design. The removable soft top folds down like a taut sail; the trunk, when opened, resembles a miniature art installation platform. The gear shifter inside extends from the shape of a No handbag, and the trunk holds a three-piece modular luggage set sized to fit precisely into the space beneath the hood.

Each car comes with its own LV capsule collection, with contents varying by vehicle—leather racing jackets, straight-leg jeans, footwear, sunglasses, a Tambour Automatic watch, and even a suit made from parachute silk.

Singer's chief strategy officer Mazen Fawaz said the team learned from LV's "172 years of craftsmanship" during the process, while Arnault described the collaboration as a shared experience of "growing together." Whether this marks the start of an ongoing relationship or a one-off keepsake remains unanswered by either side. Pricing and release details were not provided.
