Oasis Recreates Liam's 1995 Tambourine Stance, Slane Castle Joins 2027 Tour Teaser List

Eagle-eyed fans instantly recognized the pose as nearly identical to the iconic shot of Liam Gallagher performing at Slane Castle in 1995. The newly released teaser is being read as a hint that Oasis will return to the famed Irish outdoor venue, and it's the latest piece falling into place for the band's rumored 2027 tour.

Over the past few days, Oasis has been dropping a string of city-themed teasers on social media, covering Glasgow, Paris, Amsterdam, Boston and Rome. Another clip leaned into football imagery and goalposts, seemingly pointing to Manchester City's home ground, Etihad Stadium. Rumors swirling around the tour also point to a 12-night Manchester residency and a return to Knebworth, the site of the band's legendary 1996 shows — with tour promoter SJM already having secured a venue license for a concert at Knebworth. Slane Castle is now on that same rumor list.

Oasis last played Slane Castle back in 2009, shortly before the band split in Paris. Since then, they returned to Ireland on August 16, 2025, for a show at Dublin's Croke Park. If this teaser pans out, it would mark the band's first time back on the castle grounds in years.

Drone show pins the announcement to 4pm on September 14th

Earlier this week, a large-scale drone show lit up the sky above Manchester City's Etihad Stadium. Microdot, the company behind Oasis's iconic logo and longtime creators of the band's visuals, posted footage of the display online: the Oasis logo first morphed into the time "4PM BST," then shifted into the date "14.09.26." That's fueled expectations the band will officially announce their Manchester residency dates next Monday afternoon — and possibly reveal a full tour schedule spanning the UK, Europe, and even North America at the same time.

Oasis later shared an official version of the drone footage, showing Etihad Stadium set against Manchester's night skyline. Different segments were scored to the 2005 chart-topper "Lyla" and the 2008 single "The Shock Of The Lightning" — neither of which made the setlist during the band's Live '25 tour last year.

Next week's tour announcement comes hot on the heels of the documentary "Don't Look Back In Anger," which hit theaters on September 9th. NME gave it four and a half stars, calling it "impeccably paced, blending humor with intense emotion," and writing: "The band's influence has never felt clearer, and as Liam puts it at the film's close, 'Oasis saves' — it reclaims a narrative that belongs to them, while letting us relive one of the most seismic tours of our time. By the end, you'll want to experience it all over again — and who knows, maybe we will."

"Peaky Blinders" creator Steven Knight worked on the film, telling NME: "The question I wanted this film to answer was: after 16 years with zero promotion, zero marketing, why has this music only gotten bigger?" Director Will Southern added: "This film was made for presence — to make you feel like you're standing right in the middle of the crowd. If people watch it on the biggest screen possible, at the loudest volume a cinema can handle, they're going to have a great time."

Liam and Noel Gallagher attended the documentary's premiere together at the Venice Film Festival, receiving an eight-minute standing ovation — marking the first time the two have appeared together publicly off-stage since last year's reunion tour. In the film, Noel describes his brother using a word he admits he "never thought he'd use to describe Liam," adding: "We get on now, we text like normal people. The music brought us back together."
