A changing workplace, a temporary need for a second family car, or simply wanting more time with a model before buying can all call for a flexible rental. On October 30, Volkswagen Taiwan announced long-term leasing and subscription options for the second-generation T-Roc with CarPlus. Long-term leases start at NT$21,000 per month, with deposits starting at zero. Subscriptions start at NT$22,800 per month with a minimum three-month term. The first question is how long the car will be needed.

Start with the rental period

Long-term leasing addresses needs lasting at least a year, such as established commutes, company use or regular family travel. Quarterly subscriptions give people changing jobs or routines a shorter planning horizon. Both advertised monthly rates are starting prices. Eligible variants, offer periods, charges and application conditions depend on CarPlus announcements and the actual agreement. Providing the intended rental period and vehicle requirements before requesting a complete quote makes the comparison clearer than looking at monthly figures alone.

The offer provides different ways to use the same crossover. The second-generation T-Roc retains a coupe-like silhouette, with linked LED position lights, illuminated front and rear emblems, IQ.LIGHT LED Matrix headlights and a contrasting roof defining its appearance. For weekday work and weekend outings, the appeal lies in the combination of an urban footprint and SUV space. Equipment should also be checked against the actual rental variant and its specification.

A mild hybrid with a digital cabin

The powertrain combines a second-generation 48V mild-hybrid system with a 1.5-litre eTSI petrol engine, ACT cylinder deactivation and a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission. Petrol remains central to this architecture, allowing drivers to explore a newer powertrain while retaining familiar refuelling routines. Those considering commuting costs can assess their own routes, parking and usage frequency together, and ask about each technology during a test drive.

Inside, the main interfaces are a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro instrument display and a 12.9-inch Discover Pro touchscreen multimedia system, with wireless Apple CarPlay and a Chinese-language voice assistant. The instrument panel, centre screen and phone connection serve driving information, vehicle controls and navigation or entertainment respectively. Bringing a frequently used phone to the showroom helps turn screen specifications into a practical assessment of everyday operation.

Check assistance features and the full quote

Assistance equipment includes IQ.DRIVE, Park Assist Plus and Area View 360-degree surround-view display. These provide information and help with driving and parking, while the driver must continue observing the surroundings and following the manual. Volkswagen also notes limits to recognition and control, requiring particular attention around stationary or slow-moving vehicles. Steering control and responsibility remain with the driver.

From leases lasting at least a year to subscriptions starting at three months, this offer adds a time dimension to choosing a car: consider the months ahead before selecting a contract. Published starting rates provide a basis for enquiry; a full budget should use an actual rental quotation. A showroom visit can bring the desired term, equipment and daily journeys into the same decision.
