Houseplant × Droplet suspends amber glass above a small flame
The third collaboration warms The House Scent in a brass-framed burner. The official UK £70 set includes 10ml of fragrance oil and eight tealights, rather than the earlier reed diffuser.
Seth Rogen’s lifestyle brand Houseplant and British fragrance brand Droplet have introduced The Houseplant Scent Burner, their third collaboration. Hand-blown amber glass and a solid-brass frame allow a tealight to warm fragrance from below. This is a recently released home object, rather than a first announcement today. Following incense and a reed diffuser, it keeps attention on a visible flame, vessel and supporting structure.
Droplet’s UK site currently lists the set at £70. It includes a glass vessel, brass base and cradle, eight tealights and a 10ml bottle of The House Scent fragrance oil. The packaging also depicts the object’s silhouette, making the way the vessel is suspended a point of recognition. This is UK pricing, not a final cost inclusive of taxes and cross-border delivery for every other market.

Suspended glass makes the structure visible
Unlike a closed fragrance bottle, the Scent Burner hangs its glass inside an open brass frame, above a tealight on the base. The gap between flame and vessel remains visible. Amber glass warms the appearance of light, while the low metal base gives the composition a grounded visual centre. Unlit, it still has a clearly defined sculptural outline. That is a reading of the photographs, not a score based on hands-on testing.
Its operation also differs from a conventional candle. Official instructions say to add water to the glass, followed by five to ten drops of fragrance oil, then light the tealight below so heat gradually diffuses the scent. Fragrance oil should not automatically be described as pure botanical essential oil, nor is an entire bottle poured directly into a flame. The separate positions of water, fragrance and heat make the construction immediately legible.
The House Scent uses a different release method
The House Scent’s background is Rogen’s fragrance-making experience in Grasse, France, with notes of pink pepper, peony, santal and pine. Those names describe the brand’s composition. A photograph cannot establish intensity, projection or identical results in every room. Heating changes the pace of using the fragrance; it does not justify declaring it better-smelling than the previous diffuser without experiencing it.
The official FAQ lists approximately three to four hours of burning per tealight. The eight supplied candles are consumables, not a promise of a scent system needing no replenishment. Long-duration claims for the earlier reed diffuser must not be transferred to this burner. Place it on a heat-resistant surface where it can be observed, and let the glass cool before handling or cleaning. A real flame, water and fragrance replenishment make it different from a diffuser simply left standing.
Choose the object and the routine together
For someone wanting fragrance linked to a visible lighting ritual, it provides a specific everyday action. Those wanting a continuously passive fragrance should consider whether this format matches that preference. See the official Droplet Houseplant Scent Burner page for pricing, contents and instructions. An existing launch does not establish stock everywhere. Replacement oil, tealights and local delivery conditions deserve separate checks before ordering.
