Every year, Ghost Festival offerings look pretty much the same — cookies, drinks, canned goods lined up in a row. This time, IKEA decided to join in, and it went straight for the obvious move: turning its own Chinese name, "宜家" (IKEA), into a pun and baking it into a "Home Blessing Charm Cake."

The concept is simple — the cake is designed to look like a traditional peace charm. The top is printed with "IKEA" (宜家) and "Home Blessing" (宅平安), stacking the brand name directly on top of a classic Ghost Festival wish. That wordplay is really the entire gag — and the main draw. Hidden underneath is a small scene: a puppy lying on top of a house marked with the character "旺" (prosperity), visually spelling out the idea of "household peace and prosperity."

This cake is exclusive to Taiwan — meaning it's not part of a global IKEA campaign, but a festival product made specifically for the local market. Instead of chasing a brand-new flavor, IKEA leaned into its own name this time, fusing "IKEA" with "peace" — essentially folding brand identity straight into a folk tradition.
