NEEDLES × BEAMS BOY Loosens Up Collegiate Colour With Hijideru Tops and Velvet H.D. Pants
Two exclusive styles arrive in Japan November 12, with three top colours and three different trouser colours. Tax-inclusive prices are ¥23,100 and ¥31,900.
NEEDLES and BEAMS BOY have announced another exclusive trackwear collection for release in Japan on November 12, 2026. Taking inspiration from traditional American college colours, BEAMS BOY has coordinated the bodies, side stripes and butterfly embroidery. A crewneck top and H.D. track pants form the two core styles. Beyond familiar stripes, the collection places collegiate colour combinations within looser, draping shapes that can work with everyday layers.
From the volume of H.D. pants to a new Hijideru top
The trousers use NEEDLES’ recognisable H.D. silhouette in velvet, bringing sheen and a soft drape. Official styling photographs show volume extending through the leg toward the shoes, with side stripes providing direction across the fabric. That width is a styling feature: consider how much of the shoe to reveal before choosing a shorter or similarly loose top. The images offer references, while actual length depends on personal proportions and the garment measurements.
The new Hijideru crewneck was designed from scratch for BEAMS BOY, taking those H.D. pants as its starting point. The brand uses polyester smooth fabric, describing touch and wear across seasons as design priorities. In the official grey styling image, stripes follow the sleeves and butterfly embroidery retains the NEEDLES identity. A crewneck also leaves room for a shirt collar or another layer to show, offering a different effect from a conventional zipped track jacket.

Six base colours, rather than three matching sets
Each style has three base colours, but they are not the same trio. Tops come in light grey, charcoal grey and olive; trousers in black, brown and navy, making six different bases overall. Because BEAMS BOY’s colour work extends to the stripes and embroidery, narrow accents deserve attention alongside the main fabric. This is not simply a selection of three uniformly matching tracksuits.

Official styling combines some pieces with shirts, vests and hats, interweaving collegiate and sporting references. A simpler top can let the velvet trousers lead; clear layers around the neckline and accessories can foreground the crewneck’s sleeve stripes. These are suggestions based on the images, not a claim that every accessory shown belongs to the collaboration. Shorts and outer layers in campaign photographs should not be added to the two-style release list.
Japan release on November 12: styles and stockists
The Japanese announcement lists the top at ¥23,100 and trousers at ¥31,900, both including tax and both in size FREE. FREE is the size designation used in the release; check actual garment length, inseam and waist measurements rather than treating the label as a fit guarantee. Lighting can also change the apparent sheen in photographs. Velvet trousers and the polyester smooth top are different material expressions, not one identical fabric used across a suit.
The collection will be sold through stores carrying BEAMS BOY across Japan, with some exceptions, and the official BEAMS online shop. October 29 is the announcement date; November 12 is the Japanese release date. This is therefore a release preview, and yen prices are not unannounced Taiwanese pricing. Choose by silhouette, the six bases and how each piece works with your existing wardrobe, then confirm availability and measurements with the retailer.
