UNION and Nike will launch Natural Selection in Japan on October 30, 2026. The collection is about more than Dunk Low SP colours: suede extends down to the midsole, while a fold-down heel loosens the familiar silhouette. Jackets, hoodies, T-shirts, trousers and socks complete the range. For anyone hoping to buy the sneakers, one point matters as much as the release date: UNION’s raffle entry period has ended. Opening hours do not mean that shoes will be available to walk-in customers.
Suede heel and collar detail; the fold-down heel supports two ways of wearing the design.
Suede changes the Dunk’s structure
The original October 29 announcement describes a suede upper without reinforcement or lining, shifting the Dunk away from a rigid construction. Official photographs show layered side panels, exposed edges and yellow stitching, retaining a recognisable outline while foregrounding the material. This is the brand’s design approach, rather than our wear test; it cannot establish how the shoe will fit, resist abrasion or feel underfoot for every wearer.
The three versions are named Eclipse, Fatigue and Hide; the official catalogue also lists colour codes for dark, pale sand and brown options. The heel folds down to offer a slip-on-style alternative to wearing it as a conventional lace-up. Japan’s official catalogue prices the Dunk Low SP at ¥20,350. That is a local price, not Taiwanese pricing, and neither accounts for cross-border costs nor guarantees availability.
Washed cotton and an M-65-inspired jacket
The clothing follows the same worn-in vocabulary. Heavy cotton and washing treatments appear across hoodies, trousers and short-sleeved tops, with restrained branding that encourages looking at the whole outfit. Catalogue prices are ¥25,300 for the hoodie, ¥22,330 for the trousers, ¥10,450 for the T-shirt and ¥2,200 for socks. Available colours and stock depend on the Japanese retailer at the time of purchase.
The jacket draws on a 1990s M-65 silhouette, revisited through a modern fit and a three-layer cotton-and-nylon material. In the catalogue photograph, large pockets and small yellow accents stand out against black fabric; the listed price is ¥59,400. Three-layer construction is a published material description, not evidence of a particular waterproof rating or outdoor certification. Buyers should consult the actual product specifications and their needs.
The black collaboration jacket combines large pockets and yellow accents with M-65 inspiration.
October 30 release: separate rules for shoes and clothing
UNION’s raffle page states that entries ran from 9am October 27 to 9am October 28, Japan time, for residents of Japan. Results begin arriving from 9am October 30. App winners must pay according to their notification, generally within eight hours of receiving it. Store winners can collect and pay from 11am October 30 until 7:59pm November 1. Delivery is domestic only, and overseas forwarding addresses may be cancelled, so this is not an ordinary international shopping arrangement.
The online store lists a 9am opening and Tokyo and Osaka stores open at 11am on release day. However, UNION specifies that general in-store sales that day cover clothing; sneakers are for raffle winners only. All times here are local to Japan, one hour ahead of Taiwan. Separate the raffle from the clothing launch before planning a visit, then check current official notices. The collection invites a closer look at materials, heel construction and military-inspired tailoring; access to it remains subject to each channel’s rules.
