CAFUNÉ’s first Southeast Asian pop-up opens in Bangkok on October 29: a giant Stance model previews the centralwOrld space
Hong Kong’s CAFUNÉ is preparing a temporary store in centralwOrld’s first-floor Atrium Zone. Explore its design preview, black-bag campaign photographs and autumn/winter Cadence collection through structure, scale and everyday use.
Hong Kong leather-goods brand CAFUNÉ will open a Thai pop-up in the first-floor Atrium Zone at Bangkok’s centralwOrld on October 29, 2026, its first pop-up project in Southeast Asia. The preview brings Stance, Drop and Ori together with Fall/Winter 2026 arrivals, creating an opportunity for people familiar with product photographs to reconsider sizes, closures and strap proportions. October 25 remains before opening: the published spatial image is a design preview, not a record of a visit to the finished venue.
Founded in 2015: from handbag design to retail space
CAFUNÉ was founded in 2015 by Queenie Fan and Day Lau. Fan leads design, with experience at 3.1 Phillip Lim, Coach and rag & bone; Lau is managing director, having developed operations, communications and strategic expertise in architecture and real estate. Their backgrounds offer a way into this retail project: the structure of a handbag and the space that invites someone to approach, try it on and compare it are two connected design questions.
The pop-up rendering arranges low plinths, shelves and curved seating in a pale cream display area, with a Stance Bag enlarged into a central model. Its black body and bright hardware become easy to distinguish against the light background. Changing the scale turns details normally read at close range—the flap, handle and front clasp—into an outline that first catches the eye, then redirects attention to the real products nearby. The rendering establishes a display direction, not a guarantee that every colour shown will remain in stock.
A giant Stance model and campaign images put scale in focus
Two brand campaign photographs provide a scale closer to the body. One combines dark-grey clothing, a black flap bag and a wall patterned by light; another sets a black top-handle bag, gold-coloured hardware and a brown inner edge against loose white clothing. Even with black leather goods, the tonal contrast against clothing, the exposed length of the handles and how much of the interior is visible above the edge can change the overall visual weight. Comparing these relationships is more specific than treating all dark bags as the same basic option.
A brand campaign photograph contrasts dark clothing and a black bag with metal hardware.Another campaign image places a black bag against white clothing to compare the body, handles and opening.
The preview also names the autumn/winter Cadence collection, while the official brand page lists Stance, Drop, Ori and woven styles offered in Thailand only at this pop-up. Viewing can proceed in two stages: compare the overall shape and where it sits on the body, then inspect clasps, corners, stitching and openings. For daily commuting, assess whether regular belongings can be removed conveniently and whether the strap works with the thickness of your clothing alongside the external shape, rather than deciding from a single campaign image.
Visit centralwOrld from October 29: address and opening hours
The pop-up is in centralwOrld’s first-floor Atrium Zone. The official hours are 10:00–22:00, at 999/9 Rama I Road, Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330. This is an upcoming temporary retail space, not a permanent flagship already open today; plans to try on and compare products should begin from October 29. Thai retail prices and the actual models and colours available can be checked with the store after opening.
Prepare through the official CAFUNÉ Thai pop-up page and collection information. The interest here is how a Hong Kong leather-goods brand translates structured bag bodies, curved displays and metal details into a Bangkok setting that allows products to be compared. Looking at an enlarged model before returning to real dimensions in the hand moves the question from liking a shape to whether it suits your own way of using a bag.
