Dropping the subscription requirement doesn't mean it's free. Whoop has announced that its Advanced Labs health screening service will no longer require an additional subscription, meaning any Whoop user can now opt into this blood testing feature. However, the actual testing, conducted by Quest Diagnostics, still comes at a cost, starting at around $150 per test. In other words, what Whoop tore down is the "membership wall," not the bill.

The blood test data provided by Advanced Labs covers four areas: cardiovascular, metabolic, hormonal, and inflammation markers, giving users of Whoop's screen-free fitness wearable access to deeper physiological insights beyond everyday activity tracking. The brand also stated that it has added Galleri, a multi-cancer early detection test, to the list of tests available through Advanced Labs.

This move comes at a time when the screen-free fitness tracker market is getting increasingly crowded, with Garmin and Google's Fitbit both recently launching similar products. Whoop's decision to lower the barrier for Advanced Labs suggests a push to extend health data services to more of its existing users, rather than keeping them as a paid-tier perk reserved for subscribers. No further details have been released yet regarding the cost or launch timeline of the Galleri test.
