IKEA Thailand’s storage campaign: making room for collections, with Khon Kaen set to open October 30
Explore the balance of display and concealment in EKET, paper storage with SVÅNG and Thai online dimensions and prices. The planned Khon Kaen location has 11 room displays; display stock and take-home products are different counts.
Sneakers, records and small finds brought back from trips all need a physical place. IKEA Thailand’s Every Version of You campaign and Make Space for What You Love concept put storage at the heart of its fiscal 2027 direction. Meanwhile, its new Khon Kaen location is scheduled to open on October 30, 2026, a date now posted on the official brand page. As collections grow, this offers a reason to reconsider cabinets through three questions: how much to display, how much to conceal and how to retrieve things.
Collections deserve visibility and a practical place in daily life
In IKEA Thailand’s official storage setting, brown EKET cabinets at different heights form a wall composition. Open compartments hold glasses, books and ornaments, while closed doors move other belongings into the background. The key is more than colour: it is the balance between display and concealment. Collections you want to see every day can remain visible, while supplies that create visual clutter can be arranged differently. These are brand home-styling photographs, not interiors of the forthcoming Khon Kaen store.
The same official photo series shows a shelf insert inside a cabinet and a SVÅNG box pulled out from a compartment. Dishes, books and small items do not necessarily suit spaces of the same height. Additional shelf divisions give objects separate places instead of stacking everything vertically, while a box collects loose papers into a unit that can be lifted out. Before shopping, measure the height and depth of your collection and consider the direction in which items will be removed. Then decide whether doors, internal dividers or boxes are needed, so adequate capacity also translates into easy everyday use.

Reading Thai prices: compare dimensions before savings
The Thai storage page lists the galvanised OMAR shelving unit measuring 92 × 36 × 94cm at THB790, previously THB990. The 92 × 36 × 181cm version in the same series is THB1,580. Different heights and configurations cannot be compared by series name alone. A light-bamboo UPPDATERA storage box measuring 16 × 24 × 15cm is listed at THB299, previously THB399. These are Thai-baht prices on the Thai website, not Taiwan prices, and do not mean every size in a series costs the same.
The website gives this group of prices a validity period of August 20, 2026–August 25, 2027; check the individual item and delivery options when ordering. This also explains why fiscal 2027 and an October 2026 store opening are compatible: one is a business year and the other a calendar date. Rather than emptying a home in one go, the more practical questions are which belongings should stay close at hand, which can be grouped in boxes and how to leave room for new interests.
Khon Kaen is set to open October 30: display and take-home stock differ
The location at Lotus’s Khon Kaen 1 will be the brand’s first in northeastern Thailand. Announced plans cover approximately 850 square metres, with 11 room displays, more than 40 display points and over 1,400 displayed products. More than 300 products are planned for immediate purchase and take-home, alongside Click & Collect and Swedish Bite. Displayed products and products ready to take home are different totals: seeing a furnished room does not mean every piece can be taken away that day. These are pre-opening plans; opening day has not yet arrived.
The official address is 356 Moo 3, Mittraphap Road, Mueang Kao, Mueang Khon Kaen, Khon Kaen Province. Visit the official IKEA Khon Kaen page for opening updates, then use the Thai storage and organisation page to compare styles, dimensions and prices. Collections can have their own place, frequently used equipment can remain easy to retrieve and the room can still leave space to move.
