Bangkok’s Sun Society announces November 1 opening: all-day brunch, a run club and workspace under one roof
Former Scuba opening head chef Rafael Garcia and his partners are creating a Sukhumvit 31 venue. Explore the menu, the October morning timetable and November plans yet to be announced and Tuesday closure, while distinguishing October soft-opening events from December evening plans.
Sun Society wants to connect breakfast after a run with an afternoon working on a laptop. Co-founded by Rafael Garcia, Thibault Garcia and Kevin Koeninger, the new venue announces its formal opening on November 1, 2026, bringing all-day brunch, specialty coffee, activities and workspace together. Its opening announcement places most dishes in the THB200–300 range, rather than setting one price for everything.
A dish photograph supplied with the opening announcement presents orange dumplings, small green leaves and fine shavings.
Choosing a plate: start with the base and its accompaniments
The official menu’s Avocado Croissant combines avocado, soft egg and chilli oil with an all-butter croissant. Carrot Tacos place roasted carrot, whipped feta and dukkah on soft corn tortillas. There is also a Larb Bowl with Thai larb, rice, herbs and a jammy egg, putting Thai plates alongside Western brunch dishes.
Official food photographs show The Sun Breakfast Platter, Ruby Turkish Eggs and Mushroom Toast together on a table. The Salmon Waffle pairs a waffle with gravlax, ikura and a poached egg. The opening announcement also lists Sweet Potato Gnocchi, coffee and drinks such as mimosas. Consult the full restaurant menu for individual prices and daily availability.

From Scuba to a neighbourhood table: what carries forward?
Rafael Garcia has worked in European hotels and restaurants, a Paris bakery and private chalets in Zermatt, Switzerland. In Bangkok he was pastry chef at Cadence by Dan Bark before becoming Scuba’s opening head chef. Sun Society redirects that kitchen experience towards everyday dining and repeat visits. The three co-founders also bring the social connections they found through running, rugby and padel into the community they hope to build around the restaurant.
The activities have a concrete timetable: the official site currently lists an October schedule, with Friday HIIT at 7am, Saturday yoga/Pilates at 7am and Sunday Run Club at 7am. The November schedule is still to be announced, so the October timetable should not be treated as a fixed programme after the formal opening. Free membership lists morning-class access through the end of 2026, subject to availability and current announcements. Sports massage is a separate service, and not every massage session is complimentary.
Formal opening November 1: separate soft-opening events from regular hours
Before the opening, Active Run Club announced an October 24 collaboration at Sun Society during its soft opening, with confirmed places required. That one-off event is now past; its drink or food discounts are not general offers for today. The formal opening announcement lists Wednesday–Monday, 7am–5pm, closed Tuesdays. The address is 178 Sukhumvit 31 Alley, Lane 2. Parking is available, and the restaurant identifies itself as pet friendly.
An upstairs working floor is planned with Wi-Fi and power sockets. Extending hours to 10pm and showing outdoor films in the garden from December are forthcoming arrangements, rather than current evening hours. Check the official Sun Society website for menus and activities, or call 082-202-9669 to confirm soft-opening reception and daily arrangements after the formal opening. Connecting breakfast to post-exercise conversation and then to work upstairs is the everyday rhythm the venue aims to create.
