Tivoli’s Model One BT Naturals brings four quiet colours to the tabletop

Sage, Eucalyptus, Ginger and Angora refresh the familiar radio, listed at US$199.99 with AM/FM tuning, physical controls and Bluetooth still at its core.

Tivoli’s Model One BT Naturals brings four quiet colours to the tabletop

Tivoli Audio’s Model One BT Naturals collection uses four colours to reconsider the presence of a tabletop radio. Sage, Eucalyptus, Ginger and Angora bring green, grey-green, warm ginger and soft white to the familiar cabinet. These are recently introduced finishes, rather than a new model first revealed today. Tivoli’s US site currently lists Naturals as a limited edition at $199.99 each; pricing and supply in other markets require separate checks.

The Model One design originated with Henry Kloss in 2000. BT is the later Bluetooth-equipped version, so Bluetooth should not be backdated to the original launch. The new finishes retain the round speaker at left, large tuning dial at right and two smaller knobs, with a distinct contrast between the real-wood-veneer cabinet and front panel. Nature supplies colour references, not actual sage, eucalyptus or ginger ingredients, and the radio has no fragrance function.

The four finishes change more than a front panel

Official combinations are Oak/Angora, White/Eucalyptus, White/Ginger and Oak/Sage. Two place visible wood grain beside the panel; the others use white surrounds to soften the boundary. In the campaign scenes, Eucalyptus sits among moss and leaves, while Ginger echoes grain and warm-toned objects. Those are styling choices: plants and props are not included, and the scenes do not imply outdoor waterproofing.

The useful continuity is the division of controls: turn a dial to select a station, adjust volume, or switch to Bluetooth audio from a phone. For someone wanting one fewer screen on a desk, that interface reduces the need to find an app. It does not make the radio an all-purpose smart speaker. Official specifications identify AM/FM and Bluetooth 5.1, rather than built-in Wi-Fi internet radio or a voice assistant.

A mono radio with several connections

Model One BT uses one three-inch full-range driver in a bass-ported cabinet, with an official output rating of 6W. The built-in speaker is mono. Connections include a 3.5mm auxiliary input, stereo headphone output and REC OUT line-level output. Stereo headphone connectivity does not mean the cabinet contains separate left and right speakers. These distinctions help establish whether it suits a particular desk setup.

The box includes a power supply, external FM antenna and manual; this is not a battery-equipped pocket radio. Bluetooth removes the cable between source and radio, not the need for power. For a physical player, check compatibility with the auxiliary input. If portability, water resistance or networked multiroom playback is the main requirement, the listed specifications offer no such guarantee. Small dimensions alone cannot establish those capabilities.

Separate colour, price and delivery questions

All four Naturals finishes currently carry the US official price of $199.99. Tivoli also warns that Naturals orders may experience a slight shipping delay, so an available purchase option does not guarantee delivery on a particular day. Consider the desk, wall and neighbouring equipment when choosing a colour, then confirm local supply and warranty. The official Tivoli Audio Model One BT product page details its functions. Colour is the update here; it should not be presented as a wholesale technical redesign.
